In this part I’m going to show you how to record your voice and your guitar into Audacity at the same time. This is going to be perfect for recording quick demos or for guitar teachers recording educational material.
The method I’m going to show you today for recording your guitar and vocals at the same time requires a microphone for your vocals, your guitar of course and an audio interface with 2 or more inputs to plugin them both into. I do recommend a dynamic microphone for this particularly if you’re recording electric guitar, as it’ll pick up less of the sound of dry acoustic guitar strings being strummed in your vocal recording. But if a condenser mic is all you have, not to worry.
Audacity doesn’t technically allow for multitrack recording, but I’m going to show you a workaround that will allow you to record two tracks simultaneously.
